This 3 foot length of wire was completed stripped of it's outer cover by a gopher who got a little hungry.
When this happens, the wire makes contact with the soil and grounds out the power that should be sent to the sprinkler head to cause it to water the turf. It can't work and grass dies.
Julio has gotten real good at locating where these breaks are by using a ground fault locator.
Not only do they make dirt mounds and create holes to trip in, now they are ruining the irrigation system.

The real news.
The Kirby yardage markers on the course have been replace with new ones.
Now the numbers can be read easily and all are level and obvious.
Check your yardage and stay below the hole.
